Requirements for stem nut materials in general valve standards
May 29, 2018

The general purpose valve flange connection iron gate valve requires that the stem nut be made of copper alloy or other material with high strength and good wear resistance.

"Universal valve flange and butt welded steel gate valve" standard requires that the material of the stem nut should have sufficient bearing capacity and a minimum melting point of copper alloy or nickel bearing iron with a minimum melting point above 954.

The general valve flange connecting steel cut-off valve and lift check valve requires that the material of the stem nut should have sufficient bearing capacity and a minimum melting point of copper or nickel iron with a minimum melting point above 954 degrees C.

The general valve diaphragm valve standard requires stem nuts to be made of ductile iron or copper alloy material.

The general valve material standard requires that the stem nut is made of cast aluminum bronze, cast aluminum brass and cast manganese brass material.
