Why do semiconductors need EP seamless tubing?

Semiconductor manufacturing is currently one of the most extreme industrial fields in terms of cleanliness requirements. Firstly, because the line width on the chip has been reduced to the nanometer level, any tiny particles can cause circuit short circuits or breaks, which requires an ultra clean production environment and products in the semiconductor industry.
In semiconductor factories, various high-purity chemicals and gases need to be transported to process equipment through pipelines. These fluids include ultrapure water, etching solution, developing solution, high-purity acid-base, and specialty gases.
Stainless steel EP pipes ensure the initial high purity of these fluids during pipeline transportation due to their ultra clean process.

The reason why EP tubes can perform this task is due to their three major characteristics:
1. The extremely smooth inner surface greatly reduces the adhesion and accumulation of particles.
2. The dense chromium oxide passivation film improves the corrosion resistance of the pipe and prevents metal ion precipitation from contaminating the fluid.
3. The surface of the pipe has no dead corners, which can effectively prevent microbial retention and is easy to clean and sterilize.
