A bleed valve is an important safety device whose core function is to automatically release excessive pressure in a pressure system, thereby preventing equipment from exploding or being damaged due to overpressure.
Its working principle is that when the pressure inside the system exceeds the preset safe valve, the spring or pilot mechanism inside the valve will be pushed, causing the valve to instantly open and quickly discharge excess fluid (gas, steam, or liquid) to a safe location. After the pressure returns to normal, the valve will automatically close and the system will continue to operate.
The application scenarios of bleed valves are extremely wide, and they are an indispensable part of many industrial hydraulic systems:
1. Industrial production: boilers, pressure vessels, oil and gas pipelines, etc. Any closed pressure equipment requires it to ensure safety.
2. Energy and chemical industry: In refineries and chemical plants, it protects complex process equipment and prevents hazardous chemicals from leaking due to overpressure.
So although the bleed valve does not participate in the daily production process, it always guards the safety bottom line. It eliminates risks invisibly through precise pressure relief and is a key equipment for protecting life and property in modern chemical and process industries.
