The function of the safety valve
Apr 23, 2018

Although the air compressor safety valve is small, it has a great effect.

Do not see the size of the valve shape of the compressor is small, but its function can not be underestimated. For example, the safety valve of screw air compressor is a "little thing" installed on the oil and gas tank, but it can play a role of safety protection in the air compressor system. When the system pressure exceeds the specified value, the safety valve is opened and part of the gas in the system is discharged into the atmosphere, so that the system pressure does not exceed the allowable value, thus ensuring that the system does not have an accident due to excessive pressure.

The setting pressure (setting pressure) of the safety valve of screw air compressor is the pressure of its starting jump. It is generally required that the setting pressure is greater than the normal working pressure and less than the pressure of the system.

There are two main types of safety valves for air compressors, spring type and rod type, of which spring safety valve is quite common. As we all know, the tighter the spring is, the greater the force is needed. That is to say, the compressing force of the spring is directly proportional to the amount of deformation. With the increase of the opening height of the valve core, the compression of the spring increases and the reaction force increases accordingly, which is the working pressure needed for the safety valve to return to the seat in time. There are many types of spring type safety valves, now the main use of cylindrical spiral, steel wire section is generally circular compression spring, this type of spring has a typical linear force characteristics.

Before installation, the air compressor safety valve should be adjusted to the prescribed pressure on the test rig, and check the seal of the safety valve, and the safety valve for adjustment and inspection should be sealed. The safety valve in use should be checked regularly and checked regularly according to the relevant technical supervision regulations.
